Progress!

Well I obviously had high hopes for this past weekend, we didn’t get everything I listed done, but we got through a lot! Biscuit now officially has a room. Everything isn’t up and decorated, but it should be done in the next few days. I finally have my office space back, though I am still sharing it with a bed until that is no longer needed.

Here are some photos. Nothing too exciting, I need to get out the other camera that actually takes full photos. If you want to see more, just come over!

study

The room on the left is pretty special huh? That wallpaper was insane! I'll get better office photos up once the bed in there is made and my stuff is in there.

Now onto the nursery. Again I don’t have great photos yet…

New crib and changing table

Nursery Stuff

The accumulation of stuff starting (cruddy photo sorry). Closet doors will be back on soon.

So, it doesn’t look too exciting, but everything that is in the nursery and study was in our living room, so the house seems to be in a lot less chaos now! Hell even all our outlets face the right direction and match now.

I told Mandy I was promising everyone a new photo. This is what I got:

Latest Mandy

She doesn't believe me when I tell her she looks awesome pregnant. I'm sure I'll get a belly photo that is approved from her soon...

Cheers

This weekend or bust (aka next weekend)!

Well last weekend we had full intentions of getting the nursery finally set up.  Due to Mandy’s bitchy placenta, that didn’t happen ;) So it’s this weekend or bust (aka next weekend)!

I know we, mainly I, have been promising photos over and over again.  This weekend they will finally be put together.  If all goes well this weekend we’ll be able to say that the guest-room/study is 100%, the nursery is 100%, the bedroom is 100% and the kitchen pantry door is finally 100%. I have lots of odds and ends to finish in them all.  I can’t wait to be talking about different rooms, like bathrooms or granite counter-tops!  If I’m feeling lucky I’ll even try to get a photo of Mandy up here.

May your weekend be as productive as ours. Cheers!

Here’s the proof!

Yesterday we got to take another peek into Biscuit’s little world.  We’ve had an adventurous few days with him, but we’re very happy he’s still in there.  He needs about another 12 weeks of cooking time!

As I’ve explained it to a few others, Mandy’s placenta has decided that it’s in a bitchy mood and is trying to share it with the rest of our world.  Right now everything has calmed down and Mandy is just on general rest.  Biscuit was never affected by any of it, so that was very good news.  She does now run the risk of preterm labor, but hopefully that’s nothing we’ll have to deal with.

Enjoy the movie, we certainly have!

Cheers

As Requested: Registry info

Everyone has been starting to ask where we are registered, so I’ve linked to our info below. Big thanks to Mandy for getting all of this together enough to share. We have registered a few places and decided to try and cut it down to just a couple of places. We’ve nailed down all of our bigger things, I’m sure over the next week or so we’ll be adding some more of the basics.

Babies R Us
Wal*Mart

They aren’t listed, but if you have the absolute need to *grin*, we love all Red Sox, Patriots and Celtics wear and all Yankees smear wear.

Below are a couple photos of the crib and bed set we’ve gotten.  We can’t wait to get everything set up!

Newest sneak peek…

Here is the latest video of the little biscuit.  He seems to be doing fantastic!  My first personality prediction for him is that he is going to be a big time cuddler.  He seems to really like to shove his head into tiny areas and just stays there. Cuddly little boys are the best, so I’m hoping!

Enjoy the look into his secret little world.  Next viewing is in 3 weeks.

Cheers

I’m here, I’m here!

My deepest apologizes for living rather than writing lately.  Everything is going very well over here in the expecting Lovering household.  Biscuit, the temporary name for little __________ until he is born, is doing quite well.  He’s been practicing his back flips and upper cut.  I haven’t been able to feel it yet, but Momma over here certainly has been.  We get another sneak peek into his world Thursday afternoon.  I’ve heard a rumor that’s the last time we see him until birth.  I’m hoping that’s just a nasty rumor.

To me, it still seems surreal/fake/unbelievable. The only thing that feels very real right now is all the work being done on the house. I’m totally not complaining, we’re having a blast over here. Yes, there ARE photos coming very soon! I think I expected to feel like life was totally different immediately, but really, it’s not.  Most days go like this:

Window into our world
If you couldn’t already guess, I’m the one in green.

Where are we right now?  The nursery is no longer in staging, but it’s still floorless.  The bedroom no longer has mirrors on the wall and the hole that was revealed with that job has been covered.  Over the next couple of weeks the nursery will get it’s floors and closet doors back, the kitchen pantry will have a door again and the bedroom will be repainted.

Seriously, I’ll have pictures up soon!

Cheers.

Coming Soon: Two moms and a kid

New things are on the rise!  It’s been a month and I’m already very tired of this dingy design, never mind the fact that our URL only covers me. Starting soon you’ll see a new look to match our new URL: 2momsandakid.com (or twomomsandakid.com). I’ve decided I’d like to have fun with some of my rantings (and eventually Mandy’s).  I have no idea what it will include or how it will be set up.  Just know, if you come here one day and it’s different, that’s why.

Happy Friday all!

Caught red handed!

Well it’s official, Fetus Lovering is in fact a boy. So much so, we caught him playing with his first toy in uteruo. You got it, the little dude already found his penis.

It’s amazing to be able to see the difference after four early weeks. This time he looks much bigger and very human (hey, we all looked like little freaks when we were 10/12 weeks into growth). All of our testing seemed to go well. He has a good nose, non-cleft lip, good bones and a full belly. So he earned his gold star for the day.

I love these appointments. It really allows me to get that closer connection to everything going on. Mandy is starting to feel him move around. I’ve just started trying to feel him myself, but I think he’s a little too small for us to feel it from the outside right now. Soon, I can’t wait!

I’m hoping that feeling movement will help ease the nerves. Yesterday and last night I was wound up tight. Even when you know everything is okay, it’s that little bit of fear that you are about to find out something wrong. I’m not sure what it is, maybe it’s innocence lost from the last pregnancy not working out. Maybe this is parenthood and I need to learn to ignore the nerves and start drinking more. Either way, I’m already excited to see him again in five weeks.

Oh, names. We have two picked out and we’re waiting to see which one fits his personality. Don’t bother asking. No one is going to know his name until he’s breathing the same air as the rest of us.

Cheers!

Coming Soon: Registry and online baby pool. That’s right, we’re Lovering’s, we’ll put money down on anything!

The house just got very small

I’ve felt very comfortable about our house size.  While going through our IUI/IVF tries we knew that we had the possibility of twins and even then small threat of triplets.  Triplets scared the shit out of me, but we did everything possible to make sure that wouldn’t happen.  We followed the true percentages and we are just looking forward to the singular baby boy.

So here we are in our 2 1/2 story house, 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, 2 living rooms, you know, enough room for 3 to 5 people, easy.  We went to a Divine Consign sale this past weekend. Our first baby shop-fest!   I was so stoked that we found a baby jogging stroller for half price.  It’ll be perfect for walking around the neighborhood and to use camping and what not.  We found a few other cool things, a bunch of onesies, wiper warmer, the tiniest Crocs I’ve ever seen, and some maternity clothes.  A successful shop!

We went to leave and out in the parking lot we were staring at the stroller, in all it’s massiveness, then looking at the new mommy mobile.  It was dark, we were clueless and suddenly totally embarrassed.  Mandy jumped in the front, I jumped in the back.  We threw down the seats and stuffed the sucker in the back as fast as possible, unfolded, still in one piece.  I know there were seasoned parents in that parking lot completely entertained by our ignorance.  We silently (and quickly) drove out of the lot.  A minute or two later we both laughed and realized we were just initiated into a world that is totally foreign to us.

When we got home that night I ignored the beast in the back.  We are surrounded by parents in the neighborhood, I really wanted to wait until 3 in the morning to take that thing out, trying to avoid the ribbing.  The next morning I got the bags out, put all the clothes in the laundry, feeling great about everything.  Look at the size of a onesie, you could fit 100 of them in a drawer.  This is gonna be a piece of cake!  I finally gave in and went to get the stroller out.  In broad day light I still couldn’t figure the stupid thing out, so I threw it over my head and just carried it over the car into the house.  Whatever, it worked.  Nothing felt that wrong until I brought it up stairs into the guest room, put the stroller in the corner and looked around.  If it was a scene in a movie you’d hear a sucking sound and watch the house collapse into a tiny room.  H-o-l-y c-r-a-p, this house is about to go from half empty to full.  Reality smacked me in the forehead at 9:30 am this past Sunday.

Shit.

Pregnancy brings out the crazy!

I don’t know what it is, but pregnancy brings out the crazy in everyone. Over the last couple of weeks we’ve learned that there are lesbian drug gangs that will steal blue eyed/blonde babies (this must be why Mandy is hoping for a red head), life is full of worry now until we DIE, we will never have fun again, and after August 10th we will never sleep again and certainly not together. These are not assumptions on our part, these are the exact things we’ve been told, by all of you, you crazy ass people. The lesbian drug gang is currently my favorite, I am adding that person to the not-allowed-to-visit-the-baby list, just incase. Maybe I need to get a t-shirt made too, that says “not stolen”, so no one wonders…

Now even though everyone has had fun adding in their little bits of crazy, we’re successfully piling on some extra ourselves. There are a few things Mandy has taught me over the last couple of months. First and foremost, never let a pregnant woman get hungry. WOW, really, really bad idea, especially if you aren’t within 2 minutes of her current craving. Now I will say, Mandy hasn’t been bad at all, I know she has at least 8 more potential crazy levels (luckily I’ve only seen one or two of them), but that eye of hunger, baby hunger, that’s some crazy. Another, watch where you touch and always ask first. This poor kid, the “I walked 2 miles up hill, both ways” list is growing, daily. I don’t think there is a place that isn’t sore, swollen or ill-functioning. I can’t wait to tell her when she gets home that her sister-in-law wanted to reminder her of leaky boobs!

I can’t tell you everything Mandy has learned from me, that’s for her, but I have learned a couple of things about myself. First, I have a limit of how much I’ll do before I pitch a hissy fit. I’m exhausted from all the running around lately pulling the weight for both of us. I truly love doing it and I know by the end of the day, regardless of what I do, Mandy is more exhausted than me. By about 7 o’clock however, if you ask me to do anything, I may try to eat you for dinner. Even if I feel it coming, I can’t stop it, a can of crazy just comes flying out. I tend to stop when Mandy looks unfazed (not unphased people) and tells me to buck up. You know how I deal with my stress now, I knit. See, it’s all fucking crazy (booties, booties, hat)!

Cheers!

Snow!

Snow view from the nursery. #fb

This morning we woke up to a winter wonderland. I really wish this stuff was remotely normal around here. It makes Texas so beautiful.  Above is a photo from the nursery. I’m hoping the little guy isn’t going to have to wait until he’s 25 to see this much snow again (yeah, it’s been that long here since this much has fallen in one year).

Everything is going smoothly here on the home front. We’ve been busy getting things organized – AKA nesting. I’m off my holiday break on the remodeling, so I’ve been busy painting. Hopefully, fingers crossed, we’ll have the kitchen wrapped up by the end of next weekend! Photos will follow. After that we’ll be finishing up the flooring in the nursery so we can start getting the little man’s room ready.

Mandy had another checkup yesterday. We got all her blood and sono results, and it looks like we are at the lowest risk for any of the complications they test for, mostly Downs, so, so far, so good! I must say, as an innocent bystander, it’s pretty cool watching Mandy and Heather grow. It’s truly amazing to see how all this works!

I hope you are all well! I’m off to build a fire, get another cup of coffee and watch the snow fall while getting some work done.

Cheers!

First team item poll

Well, we aren’t at 100% certainty yet, but during the last sono the doc said he was around 80% positive that it’s a boy.  Either that or he has a forward facing tail *grin*.

With this news here are a couple of the first things we are looking at getting. Which one do you think should be first?

Yankees Stink Like my Diaper Red Sox Sleeper Pats Hat and Bootie Set

We are making sure that this kid is raised right from day one!

It’s my debut, with the hiccups!

After an hour of pulling out our hair, we finally got the video from the VCR to the laptop. VHS should be outlawed at this point. Half the time spent was looking for the freaking VCR. I’m very happy they told us today they are upgrading the burner to DVD before our filming next month. I really can’t complain though, we got to watch the little one over and over again.

Last baby pics/video for a bit. Cheers.

Don’t say we don’t share!

5 Days

Well, here are the photos everyone has been begging for. We have from day 5, which to me is just insane, all the way to today, week 13. For those of you that are REALLY interested, I hope to have a video up here soon too. Enjoy the blurry, grainy, have-no-idea-what-you-are-looking-at photos!

Cheers.

Party in the uterus *bump bump*

Wow, what a morning!  This morning we went in for our first trimester scan.  We’ve already seen our little one via ultrasound a few times, but this is the first time we finally saw something that looked like an actual baby.  I’m in pure awe.  In just a couple weeks we’ve gone from a little “blob” (hey – it’s what the doc said, not me) to what looks like a perfect little baby.  Right as the screen came on it’s like the little one just knew.  Suddenly we got a little dance, then some hand waving and finger jiving.  Once that was done the legs and feet were all moving around for us.  It’s like they were just going LOOK LOOK I have real hands and feet now!

All I can say it is was totally awesome.  We have some pictures and videos that we’ll put up here once they are off the damn VHS tape (Seriously?!).  I guess it’s good I didn’t sell that fourth VCR at the yard sale last year…

Oh, and to answer your question, yes, we were given a sex guess.  80% positive of what it is… I’m totally pumped.  Oh, and so is Mandy ;)

Here we go again!

Don’t hold your breath, but we are going to finally try to get a blog together (again).  I’ve installed WordPress about 15 times on this server, and every time I/we (mainly I) get to this point and nothing else ever happens.  I’ll mull over the look & feel – screw it this time I stole someone else’s.  Then I’ll try to categorize what I want to blurt out here – who cares, no one is gonna read it anyways!  Well now we have no excuses to get around this.  It’s baby time!  So now we have something that at least 1 or 2 people maybe interested in.  Okay, I know at least 7 people are interested in this topic.  I’d love to think that others may actually want to hear my opinion on say, Apple’s latest bitch of an item, the iPad (FAIL), or say maybe the hilarity of the current Prop 8 hearings in CA, but, they don’t.  No fear though, I’m sure if we get past the 4 post hump on this blog, my opinions will be splattered all over here in no time.

So here’s to hoping!  Cheers.
