#CatchTheMoment366 linkup – week 3

Can you believe we are done with week three? I’m already seeing the rewards of this project. I’ve caught a few photos I wouldn’t of normally captured. They aren’t exactly Lucie Statue Award candidates, but they are moments I wouldn’t of caught if my camera was put away. This actually segues into my tip of the week!

WEEKLY TIP: Having a hard time capturing a photo with your camera each day? Keep it out of its bag or case. Put it somewhere you always have access to it. During 365 project years, my camera’s permanent home is my desk. It’s in an open room that we are always running around in. Makes it easier to capture a few moments everyday.

Have a fun week four!

{15 of 366} – Tiny house, tiny vacation

As I mentioned in last week’s post, Mandy and I managed to get away for a couple of days without the boys. First time, ever! I have to admit, it was a breath of fresh air. We had a great time actually being able to only focus on each other. We spent our weekend away in a cute little tiny house in Staples, Texas.

{16 of 366} – Tiny house, huge view

This was our backyard view from our tiny house. It was truly spectacular. Texas country at its finest.

{17 of 366} – Zebra!

I’m a big fan of drive through Safaris. We took a drive through Natural Bridge Wildlife Ranch while on our tiny vacation. We enjoyed feeding a bunch of animals, seeing a little baby take some first steps, and almost got eaten by the Zebras. Zebras are funny, but man do they have some teeth. When they warn about feeding the Zebras, it’s really no joke. Look at those teeth (you need a tooth brush, sir)!

{18 of 366} – Goodbye, tiny house

A shot of the tiny house we spent the weekend in. It was such a treat to have a small space to enjoy slow breakfasts and quiet evenings.

{19 of 366} – Layers of sky

I was out grilling some chicken and just fell in love with the sky that evening. While watching the moon peak in and out I noticed the top layer of sunset colored clouds coming through the low lying clouds. Had to try to capture it.

{20 of 366} – Jump

We usually don’t let the boys do trampoline parties since they are every orthopedic’s money maker, but one of his best friends was having a birthday party. Sometimes you just need to break the rules (and try the foam pit)!

{21 of 366} – Hide and seek

Not exactly a great quality picture, but it was one of only a couple of captures for the day. They boys were hiding from each other on each side of the shelf then jumping out to scare each other. It was pretty cute 🙂

That was my week 🙂 It was a fun one! See you next week.

    1. It was our first time there. It was pretty great. We look forward to bringing the kids. It’s only a couple hours away from us, so it’s a nice break from the city!

    1. This next week is all from my iPhone. Sometimes it’s hard to have the big camera out at the right time. I used to beat myself for using my iPhone, now I’m just trying to figure out how to make it actually take some good photos. Now that’s a challenge! 😉

  1. Wow! When you said tiny house in the first pic, it didn’t click. You actually stayed in a tiny house. I’ve dreamed of living in one, but my S.O. won’t go for it (YET).

You are really inspiring me to get creative with my photos. I just upgraded my phone so when I don’t have my DSLR I can get better shots. My phone was on it’s last leg and I’m very impressed with the manual settings on my LG G4.

I absolutely love the POV you got with the Zebra. Fantastic!! Plus, JUMP & Hide and Seek are adorable. I love how you name your days. It’s great!

    1. It was so much fun staying in a tiny house! We just found it on HomeAway.com. It was in a little tiny house park. It was fun to see what it would be like. This one wasn’t as tiny as they can be, but it was still pretty little.

Zebra shot is fun huh? I had to dodge his bite. Little suckers are cute but can get a little aggressive.
