#CatchTheMoment365 link up – week 1

It’s time for our first official link up for #CatchTheMoment365! While I did a quick intro last friday, I have more photos to share this week. My overall goal is to learn to use my new DSLR (Nikon D5300) a bit better and to sharpen my editing skills. This week/month/year is proving to be a very busy one for us so I had to rely on my iPhone a couple of times this week, and I certainly didn’t get much editing done. That’s okay though! I can go back and edit any time, but I can’t catch the same moments later.

The format for this may change over the weeks. If you see anything you love or don’t, don’t be afraid to speak up.

{3 of 365} – The calm before the bloom

Our christmas amaryllis was a bit late blooming this year. I wanted to capture it just as it was starting to come to life.

{4 of 365} – It’s an exciting day, it’s a slightly sad day

The sign showed up and the neighborhood chatter started. We decided to let go of the home that we have enjoyed together since right after getting married. So much has happened here. So many memories, good and bad. The best being when we brought our son home with us.

{5 of 365} – Ode to my Sunday: the mop

Someone on the facebook group had noted that they didn’t know what to do when all they were doing was boring house stuff. So I mentioned that my mop deserved some attention. I spent a few hours with this ol’ girl while cleaning grout on all our tile floors.

{6 of 365} – A boy and his dog

Our old boy Max has been having a rough time the last month. Henry has been so patient with him. Here he’s enjoying some time with him while building a new Lego house.

{7 of 365} – First skating lesson

I don’t know who had more fun this day. Henry got to get on the ice for the first time. It’s his first step to starting to play hockey. He can’t wait to earn his stick. I can’t wait to go and cheer for him. It was so much fun watching him learn this new skill.

{8 of 365} – iPhone texture play

I was experimenting a bit with some texture photos to use on my iPhone. I feel this will be a bit better one I have some editing time with it.

{9 of 365} – Under the kitchen table post-dinner picnic

Henry has been wanting to spend time with his dog under the table after dinner lately. Not sure why, but where’s the harm? He asked me last night to join him and he was a little surprised I slid right under. His face was so priceless.

I hope you enjoyed these. I’m trying to make more time to have a bit better compositions, but something is better than nothing.

  1. Aw I’m sorry your doggie is having a hard time. I wish him the best.

I love these photos! The last one is wonderful, so cute, and you can tell how excited a smile that is! I also really like the blinds and the pic of the sale sign. Looking forward to seeing what else is in store as the year progresses.
