Christmas tagged!

I’ve been Christmas tagged by Terrell Family Fun! I avoid these on Facebook, but it seems like a fun idea here.

One of our cuter Santa photos from this year.

1. What is your first Christmas memory? I’m not sure how old I was, I’m guessing I was around five, and we were staying up near Boston at my Grandparent’s house. It was one of the only few times that most of our family piled into one house to do Christmas morning together. I remember waking up in the morning with my cousins and it was like Christmas exploded in the living room. It was a big room and I remember you could barely set foot in there due to all the presents. It was crazy – crazy awesome!

2. What is the #1 item on your kid’s wish list? A life boat. This one even surprised Santa. Go ahead and try searching Amazon for a kids life boat toy. You’ll quickly pity us. Luckily a 3-year-old isn’t too picky.

3. Were you scared / nervous of Santa as a kid or did you run right up to him? I’m pretty sure I would have gone home with him if he asked. I don’t remember hearing any stories of me being very shy.

4. Does Santa wrap his gifts or are they unwrapped and set up Christmas morning? He’s a wrapper at our house. I grew up with a wrapping Santa, so I think it just stuck. I’ve successfully convinced Mandy everything should get wrapped, even stocking stuff. It makes the moment last.

5. Gift Bag or Wrapped Gifts? I always try to wrap. Again, it’s all about dragging the morning out. I’ve done a couple of gift bag Christmases, and I just felt like I cheated. Ask me my opinion on this in a few days. I may change my mind at 11pm Christmas Eve night.

6. What is your favorite Christmas movie? This is a toss-up. A Christmas Carol (George C. Scott version) and White Christmas. I hate missing either this time of the year.

7. Does your family have an Elf on the Shelf? Yes, his name is Harry. He’s the laziest elf Santa had. It’s brilliant. I assure you, you’ll never see Harry zip lining. It’s surprising when he actually moves.

8. What is your Christmas Eve tradition? Lately we’ve been swapping dinner and an ornament exchange between our home or my sister’s home with our parents. We alternate our Christmases with our parents, so which ever doesn’t have them Christmas morning gets to host everyone for Christmas Eve. It’s been a great tradition we’ve been fostering. I couldn’t think of a better way to spend it.

9. Do you stay home for Christmas or do have Christmas morning somewhere else? We stay home! We aren’t the kids any more, our parents got us at their homes for years. Now that we have Henry, Santa comes to our home only.

10. What is on your Christmas list this year? I never really made a list this year but, if you are still looking to get me something amazing I’d like… clothes, a kindle, a new camera, new iPad, a new house, and lots of other things that have too many numbers on their price tag.

I’m still pretty fresh to the blogging world, so my network isn’t too big. The rules state though that I need to tag a few after answering, so we’ll see who wants to follow through. No pressure. If you don’t have time to respond, just consider this an extra Merry Christmas tag. Consider yourselves tagged @planetjinxatron, @frugaliscious, and @pixilatedskies.

Wanna play? Just let me know and I’ll be happy to add you to the tag list!

Merry Christmas!

Kim

  1. I love how you casually added a house on your Christmas list. 😉 I LOL’ed. Christmas traditions have been interesting to say the least since I’ve been married. My hubby’s side doesn’t have ANY traditions and my family has ALL the traditions. So when it’s my hubby’s family’s turn…it’s kind of boring. Is that bad?!? LOL Thankfully this year Christmas is spent with my family and I couldn’t be more excited! PS…best of luck on the life boat toy 😉
